Tongan Clothes

I have chosen to put this work up because it is Tongan language week and it shows how we learnt new words about clothes. We had student teachers that knew Tongan words. The student teachers had to teach us the words about the word we had. Our group's word was CLOTHES. I enjoyed learning new words that I never knew. What I found difficult was how we had to try and correct the spelling on the internet, because we spell some of the words wrong. I combat it by searching it up on the internet and the choices of the spellings came up.

spectacular sluggish slugs

I have chosen to put this work up because it shows how I learnt to write reports and the different subtitles. Our class was learning to make better reports of the insect we found in the gardens. What I enjoyed the most was how we got into groups to classify our garden creature. I found finding the insect difficult because there were not that many to find and they are very tiny to see. I overcame it by working together as a group and using magnifies to see closer.

Slugs belong to the molluscs family. There are different kinds of insects and animals that live in the sea that belong to the molluscs family. Molluscs are the largest marine phylum comprising about 23 percent of all the named marine organisms.

Nutrition
The food that slugs eat are meat. They are high and protein 12 to 16 percent. You can not eat garden slugs because they are not escargot.

Movement
As you see slugs do not have any shell or any legs. Although it does make slime. Slug move by their foot. They have a body part called a foot. A slug moves by rhythmic waves of muscular contraction on the underside of its foot.

Adaptation
Slugs have tentacles to feel. Their upper two tentacles have two eye spots at the very top, it helps them to detect movement and shades of gray.

Enemies
Slugs have many enemies their enemies are : ground beetles , snakes, toads, turtles and birds. Slugs might have many enemies but they can camouflage into brown stuff such as logs, woods, sticks and other obstacles that are brown.

Body parts
Slugs have many body parts.
Slugs have two pairs of tentacles also known as feelers.
They also have a body that is shaped in cross section.
The mantel of the slug is the mantelpiece of the shelf.
The part behind the mantel is called a tail.
Slugs are slightly different to snails because they do not have a shell that they carry at the back.

Habitat
Slugs live in the garden. They like to live in damp places where there is enough water to drink from. They like damp places instead of warm places.

Death
Many slugs do not hibernate like snails do. They die in Autumn after laying their eggs. Some slugs survive in the winter frost but many other slugs die. When it is the next spring new freshly baby slugs hatched out from their tiny eggs. Some slugs are deeply dug into the ground to be safe.

The Open Day

I have chosen this blog because I wanted to put this post up so that it could remind me about how we went to the open day at Wesley intermediate. We went to Wesley Intermediate because we had to choose if it was the right school for us. We also went there to see what it looks like inside. I enjoyed playing P.E with Mr Ball and cooking in the cooking room with Mrs Dunne and the helpers. What I found difficult was how we went to the workshop and cut out the shape of our letter. I overcame it by getting an adult or a helper to do it for me.

“BOOM, BOOM , BOOM!!!!!” as we played basketball with the P.E teacher (which is Mr Ball). We were playing basketball in Wesley Intermediate. They were hosting the Open Day. As the number was called out, the number of people were running for the bouncy, black, brown basketball ball. Mr Ball split us into 2 groups. We were given names for our groups. My team was called the All Blacks and our opponents team was called the Wallabies/Wannabes. The game was on. We zoomed into the center of the indoor court and made our way across the blue circle towards the ball that was tumbling on the floor. It was like a journey to find the secret ball that was hidden in the blue circle. I was so relieved when I got the ball. It was like a dream come true. I threw the ball but it was caught in my friends hand, Annie, I was so so frustrated because they nearly got a goal. I ran with all the speed in me. I’m a bull running towards my worse enemy, the color red.
“AAAAAAHHHHHH!” As I ran. Then suddenly………..
“BOOF!”
I got the intercept and started dribbling towards my goal.
“Nearly there, Lucy you can do this,” I kept the message stuck in my head. Then all of a sudden…………………
Dun Dun Dun “GOAL!!”
I got the last goal and ran towards my team.
“YAY !!” we were so happy. We lost the game but it was still a good game. The Wannabes/Wallabies were ecstatic. They were cheering and singing their chant they made up. It was like they were an overwhelming group that has just won a trophy for the first time in forever.

Luminous Ladybugs

I have chosen to post up this blog because I want to show how much information I know about my insect I have chosen.
We were learning to write a report and give information.
What I enjoyed the most was when we had to search up facts.
What I found challenging was when I had to put it in the write tense and edit my work to make it better.
I would combat my challenge by looking at our class poster about how to edit our work and getting use to spotting mistakes.

Sanitarium cooking

Sanitarium cooking

I have chosen to put this post up because this is the bit I really enjoyed the most and it is really important to keep it in my memory forever and ever, and It will remind me when I learnt to cook something quick to eat.

On a sunny and cold season of Winter, Room 3 was going to a program that was called  Sanitarium it was also called the “Eat your words” program. We went there to cook patties. What I enjoyed the most was how we made our names out of vegetables and fruits, and how we ate the burgers at the end.

IMG_0284 (1).JPG

I felt amazed  when we were making  the same food from last year because it means that we could learn from our mistakes and make better patties. What I felt challenging was when we had to cut up the vegetables and fruits. I didn’t feel comfortable on holding the knife, I kept on using the knife the wrong way. Instead of slicing it, It looked like that I was stabbing it. The more I clutched the knife the more I get frustrated.  I would combat my challenge by trying to get use to holding it the right way and learning to cook at home with my mum.
