The Open Day

I have chosen this blog because I wanted to put this post up so that it could remind me about how we went to the open day at Wesley intermediate. We went to Wesley Intermediate because we had to choose if it was the right school for us. We also went there to see what it looks like inside. I enjoyed playing P.E with Mr Ball and cooking in the cooking room with Mrs Dunne and the helpers. What I found difficult was how we went to the workshop and cut out the shape of our letter. I overcame it by getting an adult or a helper to do it for me.

“BOOM, BOOM , BOOM!!!!!” as we played basketball with the P.E teacher (which is Mr Ball). We were playing basketball in Wesley Intermediate. They were hosting the Open Day. As the number was called out, the number of people were running for the bouncy, black, brown basketball ball. Mr Ball split us into 2 groups. We were given names for our groups. My team was called the All Blacks and our opponents team was called the Wallabies/Wannabes. The game was on. We zoomed into the center of the indoor court and made our way across the blue circle towards the ball that was tumbling on the floor. It was like a journey to find the secret ball that was hidden in the blue circle. I was so relieved when I got the ball. It was like a dream come true. I threw the ball but it was caught in my friends hand, Annie, I was so so frustrated because they nearly got a goal. I ran with all the speed in me. I’m a bull running towards my worse enemy, the color red.
“AAAAAAHHHHHH!” As I ran. Then suddenly………..
“BOOF!”
I got the intercept and started dribbling towards my goal.
“Nearly there, Lucy you can do this,” I kept the message stuck in my head. Then all of a sudden…………………
Dun Dun Dun “GOAL!!”
I got the last goal and ran towards my team.
“YAY !!” we were so happy. We lost the game but it was still a good game. The Wannabes/Wallabies were ecstatic. They were cheering and singing their chant they made up. It was like they were an overwhelming group that has just won a trophy for the first time in forever.

Luminous Ladybugs

I have chosen to post up this blog because I want to show how much information I know about my insect I have chosen.
We were learning to write a report and give information.
What I enjoyed the most was when we had to search up facts.
What I found challenging was when I had to put it in the write tense and edit my work to make it better.
I would combat my challenge by looking at our class poster about how to edit our work and getting use to spotting mistakes.

                                 Types of ladybirds

There are more than 500 kinds of ladybirds in the United States. Ladybugs have a shell that protects their wings called the elytra. They have 2 pairs of wings one of them is at the top and the other one is tucked underneath. Ladybugs belong to the beetle family which is the insect family.

                                       Nutrition

Ladybugs eat up to 50 green flies a day. They eat with their strong powerful jaws. Their bite are painful. Ladybugs mostly drink water and is sometimes fed aphids. They can’t survive without water. Ladybugs also consume nectar, flower and honeydew.

                                       Excretion

Ladybirds excrete some of their blood as a defence. It is yellow and it smells bad. They also excrete poisonous gas. The gas is black. As you see ladybugs don’t have any enemies because they excrete gas.

                                    When you see ladybugs

You only see them in the long warm days and when it is a cold season. When it’s cold they huddle up  together or hide in cracks or in windows. They use their 6 legs to travel around to where they are going.

Sanitarium cooking

Sanitarium cooking

I have chosen to put this post up because this is the bit I really enjoyed the most and it is really important to keep it in my memory forever and ever, and It will remind me when I learnt to cook something quick to eat.

On a sunny and cold season of Winter, Room 3 was going to a program that was called  Sanitarium it was also called the “Eat your words” program. We went there to cook patties. What I enjoyed the most was how we made our names out of vegetables and fruits, and how we ate the burgers at the end.

I felt amazed  when we were making  the same food from last year because it means that we could learn from our mistakes and make better patties. What I felt challenging was when we had to cut up the vegetables and fruits. I didn’t feel comfortable on holding the knife, I kept on using the knife the wrong way. Instead of slicing it, It looked like that I was stabbing it. The more I clutched the knife the more I get frustrated.  I would combat my challenge by trying to get use to holding it the right way and learning to cook at home with my mum.
